We are investigating mechanisms of inflammation and overall immune responses to noxious stimuli, trying to understand the effect of ageing, obesity and diet on inflammation and related diseases such as diabetes, response to infections etc.

Understanding these mechanisms we can identify new therapies. We also test the effect of different nutritional products in inflammation.

Curiosity and the love to learn and explore. The fact that the response of otherwise similar individuals to inflammation and infection differs and we cannot fully explain why.
