Our research focuses on investigating potential biomarkers (e.g., micronuclei, microbial populations, various enzyme activities, telomeres, etc.) that can be detected in the blood or other body sites of patients with colorectal cancer at various stages. It aims to correlate the presence or characteristics of these biomarkers with the stage of the disease, as well as their changes in response to different therapeutic approaches.

It is significant because it can lead to the identification of specific prognostic or predictive biomarkers. In particular, it can identify biomarkers that assist in the prognosis of a patient at a specific stage of malignant neoplasm, predict their potential response to a therapeutic approach, or even exclude patients from a treatment option that would ultimately be ineffective and potentially accompanied by significant toxicity.
